Seefelder Panorama Via Ferrata: Climbing Route to the Seefelder Spitze

High above the Seefeld plateau, the Seefelder Panorama via ferrata climbs to the 2,221-meter Seefelder Spitze in the Karwendel range. Since opening in 2021, it has ranked among the most modern and best-equipped via ferratas in Tyrol.

A Modern Via Ferrata in the Karwendel

Over 475 meters of length and 260 meters of elevation gain, the route climbs through the rock faces of the Seefelder Spitze at difficulty grade C along well-secured passages. It was deliberately designed to remain accessible to experienced via ferrata climbers without extreme alpine experience.

Access via the Rosshütte

The classic approach takes the cable car from the Rosshütte to the Seefelder Joch, from where the via ferrata is reached in about 30 minutes, a far shorter route than the roughly two-hour hike on foot from the valley station. After the climb, the descent back to the mountain station takes about 20 minutes.

Difficulty and Equipment

A via ferrata set, helmet, and sturdy footwear are required, as with any via ferrata at this difficulty level. The climb is rewarded with a wide panorama over the Seefeld plateau, the Karwendel, and the surrounding peaks of the Wetterstein range, one of the finest views among Tyrol's via ferratas.
